Employer: Federal University of Petroleum Resources was established in 2007 (3 years ago) to graduate students in Science and Engineering and provide capacity building in Oil and Gas industry.
Position: Head ICT Unit
Duties: Management of the Campus Network
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor network operations to identify performance and capacity issues; measure volume and performance of network traffic; identify utilization and performance issues; develop plans and services to satisfy capacity and performance requirements;
2. Network Design and Implementation;
3. Managing the University Mail, DNS and Radius Servers;
4. Implement policies and procedures related to network availability, security, and related services; ensure implementation of operational practices in support of these policies and procedures; adjust as required;
5. Troubleshooting Campus Network in all the faculties.
6. Providing other technical support services to the University Communities;

Our Campus Network is a scalable Enterprise Network which provide internet services for the staff and students via VSAT communication on 512/1536kbps. We have mail server running Debian 5, intranet server running Debian 5, NS server running Debian 5 and Mikrotik OS for Hotspot and bandwidth management.
